70-year-old woman 'sexually assaulted' during robbery in Lahore

In a distressing event that occurred in the Dharampura area of Lahore, a 70-year-old woman was reportedly subjected to sexual assault and theft by two unidentified assailants, as revealed on Friday.

As per the first information report (FIR) lodged at the Mustafabad Police Station, the victim was traveling in a rickshaw when one of the suspects, who was disguised as a security guard, halted her under the guise of performing a security check.

The suspect subsequently led her to a secluded area near the railway crossing, where the assault and robbery transpired.

The FIR also indicated that another accomplice, estimated to be around 26 years old, participated in the crime.

The attackers allegedly stole Rs70,000 from the woman before making their escape.

Last year, a newlywed bride was sexually assaulted by three men on the outskirts of Sahiwal. The assailants were reportedly friends of her husband.

According to reports, the shocking incident took place in Chak No 6, a suburb of Sahiwal. The bride, who had married just three days earlier on December 7, was gang-raped by three friends of her husband Muhammad Iqbal.
