Boy kills mother with bricks for refusing to contract 'love marriage'

In a tragic incident, a son in Punjab's Arifwala brutally murdered his mother with bricks after she refused him to contract a love marriage, police said on Wednesday.

The harrowing incident occurred in village 15 EB within the jurisdiction of Rang Shah police station.

According to police officials, the suspect was planning to enter into a love marriage, but his mother opposed the union.

The boy harboured a deep-seated grudge against his mother for not consenting to his marriage, the law enforcer added.

Later, the suspect killed his mother so he could "tie the knot with the love of his life".

"The son beat his mother to death using bricks," a police spokesperson confirmed.

Police promptly responded to the incident and arrested the suspect.

The body of the victim was sent to the hospital for post-mortem examination.

The police have initiated an investigation into the matter, with charges expected to be filed against the accused.
