In a shocking incident, a policeman was deprived of his mobile phone and Rs80,000 cash by armed dacoits in Karachi.

According to the details, the incident happened in the jurisdiction of Aziz Bhatti police station in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of the port city.

Police said two armed dacoits on a motorbike intercepted Memon Goth police station Head Moharar, ASI Tariq, and looted a mobile phone, Rs80,000 cash and other valuables from him.

Following the incident, the cop contacted Aziz Bhatti police station to register the case.

However, no further details regarding the case were provided by the law enforcers.

The rampant street crimes have instilled fear and a sense of insecurity among the citizens as ruthless robbers have been freely roaming the city, looting people and killing them over the slightest hint of resistance with impunity.

According to the report published by the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC), a total of 5,789 cases of robbery were reported in the metropolis in April.

In the first four months of the ongoing year, almost 60 people were killed by dacoits for showing resistance during the robbery incidents in Karachi.
