Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) Zafar Javed, his son, and three others were arrested for allegedly looting a pan shop in Karachi's Gulshan-e-Iqbal 13D area.

The incident came to light when CCTV footage of the dacoity went viral on social media.

In the viral video, three robbers could be seen storming a pan shop and threatening the shopkeeper.

The shopkeeper reported losing more than Rs70,000 in the robbery.

Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Arif Aslam said that a police van used in the dacoity belongs to the senior police official.

He further said that all the suspects allegedly involved in the robbery were identified as police are conducting raids to arrest them.

However, a case was registered against the suspects on the complaint of the shopkeeper, Shahzeb Mughal, at the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Police Station.

Aslam informed that the police mobile used in the crime was also seized.
