Field Marshal Munir reaffirms peace, prosperity of Balochistan central to state’s efforts amid uptick in attacks

Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Saturday said the peace, prosperity and well-being of the people of Balochistan remained a key priority for the state.

He made the remarks during his visit to Quetta Garrison, where he met commanders and commanding officers of field formations.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Munir was briefed on the prevailing security situation, operational preparedness and measures being taken to maintain peace and stability across the province.

He said a stable and secure environment was essential for promoting development, creating economic opportunities and improving prospects for the people of Balochistan. Matters related to institutional coordination and support for the province’s socio-economic development were also discussed during the visit.

The army chief praised the professionalism, readiness and dedication of the troops and stressed the importance of continued coordination between law enforcement agencies and other state institutions to strengthen peace and support sustained economic activity.

Field Marshal Munir also paid tribute to the martyrs and acknowledged the sacrifices and commitment of officers and troops serving in the province. He was received by the Quetta Corps commander upon his arrival at the garrison.
