At the Islamabad International Airport, four passengers were stopped from travelling as the work visas were suspected to be fake, according to FIA.

The individuals, Muhammad Imran, Mian Tauseef, Sultan Afzal, and Abdul Rehman, were set to board flight CZ8070 to New Zealand. They are said to belong to Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Peshawar.

However, during the routine checks at the airport, the four individuals were found to be suspected forgeries.

According to reports, their passports were also stamped with protection visas that were stamped from Rawalpindi, Abbottabad, and Peshawar offices, which raised alarms against them.

They were later arrested by the Anti-Human Smuggling Cell of FIA, and efforts were directed towards establishing the authenticity of their visas as they tried to get hold of the alleged mediator.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took notice of reports of travellers being offloaded while travelling abroad, and a committee has been formed to investigate the matter.

The committee has been formed with representatives from NADRA, MOFA, and FIA. However, the committee will propose a new mechanism for people travelling overseas.
