A horrifying accident in Malir involving a speeding truck and a bike sent shockwaves through the port city, leaving residents outraged over the reckless movement of heavy traffic that continues to endanger innocent lives.

Amid the rising anger, a speeding truck driver was intercepted by locals in Malir Saudabad. Witnesses accused the driver of reckless driving, forcibly pulling him out of the vehicle and beating him in frustration.

In a video from the scene, a voice can be heard claiming that a major accident was narrowly avoided, as the truck could have run over women.

Another man, while hitting the driver, expressed his anger, saying that his wife and children’s lives were put in danger due to the reckless movement of heavy vehicles. He also alleged that the truck had damaged overhead electric wires.

Meanwhile, several bystanders referred to a similar incident at Malir Halt, warning that a tragedy could have occurred if the truck had not been stopped in time.

A devastating accident claimed the lives of a pregnant woman, her newborn child, and her husband when a speeding water tanker crashed into their motorcycle under the Malir Halt Bridge in Karachi.

More than 60 people have lost their lives in collisions with heavy vehicles since the start of the year, according to statistics shared by the non-governmental organisation Chhipa Welfare.

Data released late Saturday night revealed that at least 63 people were killed in accidents involving dumpers and trailers, excluding three additional deaths
