Karachi: Minor boy dies after getting trapped in lift

A seven-year-old boy died after getting trapped in a moving lift in the Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 19 area of Karachi.

According to Rescue 1122, the Central Command and Control received an emergency call, and immediately dispatched the Urban Search and Rescue team along with an ambulance and Disaster Response Vehicle to the scene.

Despite the efforts of the rescue team to extricate the child from the lift, the boy was unfortunately declared dead at the scene.

Rescue operations were carried out promptly, but the child could not be revived.

In a similar incident last year, a woman died after falling from a lift in Karachi's Karimabad area. The woman, who had given birth to a child earlier in the morning, was being transported on a stretcher into the elevator when the lift suddenly fell, leading to her immediate death.

The woman's uncle had told local media that the family does not seek sympathy but will pursue legal recourse against the hospital for the tragic accident.
