Pakistan has introduced its first-ever aerial e-challan system in Karachi, with drones from the Traffic Regulation and Citation System now conducting aerial patrols across different areas of Saddar, sources reported.
For the first time in the history of Pakistan, after the technological advancement of the e-challan system in Karachi, another aerial e-challan system has been launched to locate the violations of the traffic rules more smoothly.
DIG traffic Pir Mohammad Shah announced that two vehicles were issued heavy fines for illegal parking, and faceless trafficking challans were generated for both cars on Zaibunissa Street. The owners were sent a challan of PKR 10,000 each. The violations were recorded during the peak traffic hours in the evening.
The DIG further added that the motorists will receive a 50% discount if the challan is paid by 29th December.
According to Pir Mohammad Shah, surveys were conducted yesterday in different areas of Saddar, with dedicated teams monitoring various locations. Vehicles found parked illegally on purpose will be issued instant e-challans.
However, the drone will patrol the route from Saddar mobile market to Abdullah Haroon road, while the nearby locations of Saddar will be kept under aerial observation.
