Karachi police to book wedding hall management for celebratory gunfire

Karachi: In a major move, police authorities have decided to include wedding hall management in cases of celebratory gunfire incidents occurring outside their premises.

According to police officials, strict directives have been issued to district-level officers, mandating Station House Officers (SHOs) to notify wedding hall administrations within their jurisdiction in advance about the consequences of such actions.

Police officials stated that if any individual is found engaging in celebratory gunfire during an event at the venue, both the individual and the hall administration will face legal action.

To raise awareness among the public, banners against celebratory gunfire will also be prominently displayed in and around wedding venues.

This step aims to curb the growing menace of aerial firing during celebrations, ensuring public safety and promoting responsible behavior at social events.
