A written order has been issued by a Lahore district court granting bail to five suspects in a case related to the tragic deaths of a mother and her infant daughter who fell into an open manhole near Bhati Gate last month after a settlement agreement.

The written order, which comprises three pages, was issued by a judicial magistrate at the District Courts in Lahore.

The project manager, Asghar Sandhu, safety in-charge Hanzala, and site in-charge Ahmed Nawaz were presented in court, while contractors Salman Yaseen and Usman Yaseen were produced in police custody.

The tragic accident transpired near Data Darbar, in which a sewer line accident befell a 24-year-old woman, Sadia, along with her 10-month-old daughter, Rida.

The lifeless body of Sadia was recovered by Rescue 1122 almost six hours after the accident, while her infant’s lifeless body was retrieved after an extensive search operation of 16 hours.
