In a disturbing incident, the principal of a local academy located in a suburban area of Lahore has been accused of raping a ninth-grade student.

As per reports, a case had been registered against the academy principal based on a complaint filed by the victim's parents. The student's family claimed that the police were allegedly showing favoritism towards the accused.

The police said that the alleged victim underwent a medical examination, but they have yet to receive the report. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the final medical report.

The complainant stated that the principal, identified as Iftikhar, summoned her daughter and other girls to the academy on Sunday under the pretext of extra classes. However, he sent the other students back home and allegedly raped the victim in the laboratory room.

Moreover, the victim’s mother claimed that her daughter was assaulted after being given an intoxicating drink.

The complainant maintained that the police were actively protecting the suspect. However, the accused was not arrested while the police awaited the medical report.

Earlier on October 14, news of the alleged rape of a student at a private college in Lahore spread rapidly on social media. This sparked outrage among students, who took to the streets and staged violent protests, vandalizing the college.

At least 27 students were injured in clashes with the police.

The police had taken a security guard of a private college into custody following a complaint filed by protesting students. However, allegations of rape could not be substantiated by any of the affected students or their families.

Following this incident, rumors circulated rapidly on social media, and the matter became politicized. The Punjab government subsequently formed a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to investigate the incident. The JIT concluded that no rape had occurred on the college premises.
