Former Member of National Assembly and National Democratic Movement (NDM) leader Mohsin Dawar and several others were injured as police opened fire at protestors in Miranshah area of North Waziristan, police confirmed on Saturday.

The incident happened when Mohsin, along with his supporters, was staging a protest outside the Miranshah Cantt Gate against the delay in election results.

According to sources, police allegedly used tear gas and opened fire at protestors to disperse them, resulting in the injuries of several people including the former lawmaker.

The NDM leader was hit by a bullet in his leg and was shifted to the hospital, however, his condition is out of danger.

Police have not issued any clarification in this regard till the filing of this news.

Mohsin was contesting elections from NA-40 (North Waziristan) for the National Assembly seat, from where he was elected in the last elections in 2018.
