Mphil student reportedly gang-raped in Lahore

A female gold medalist student of Government College University Lahore was reportedly gang-raped and filmed by three men, according to police.
The case has been registered under relevant sections of the law regarding gang rape based on the victim's complaint. The victim was pursuing an MPhil degree at GC University Lahore.
The incident occurred on January 10, while the case was registered after eleven days on January 21.
The complainant stated that one of the suspects befriended her on social media. He then called her to Muslim Town under the pretext of having breakfast and took her to a private society, where she was raped and filmed by three suspects.
She added that the suspects also took two cheques from her sibling's chequebook, which they found in her handbag.

Since the incident, the victim has been threatened with having videos uploaded on social media if she told anyone about it.
Following the filing of an FIR with the FIA, police launched an investigation. Although the suspects have not been arrested yet, police are conducting raids to apprehend them.
The victim stated that the suspects had ruined her life and added that they should be brought to justice according to the law.
In July 2024, a woman had been gang-raped by robbers at gunpoint in front of her husband and three-year-old daughter in Hafizabad, Punjab.
The reports had suggested that the family was going to Chiniot by motorcycle when it was stopped by robbers near Sukheke.
