NCCIA arrests man in Karachi after TikTok reports child pornography

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has taken into custody a man for allegedly producing and circulating child pornography through TikTok.

The investigation officer produced the suspect before a judicial magistrate and requested a 14-day physical remand for questioning. The officer told the court that Hussain needed to be interrogated about possible collaborators and that further electronic devices or material could be recovered during the investigation.

The magistrate, however, granted NCCIA a two-day remand and directed that the suspect be brought before the court again on October 1, 2025.

According to the first information report (FIR), the case originated from a complaint forwarded by the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The centre had received a CyberTipline report from TikTok regarding the uploading of a pornographic video involving a boy under the age of 13, allegedly recorded by the perpetrator himself. The incident was reported on August 16, 2025.

Investigators said subscriber and call record details obtained from the relevant telecom company traced the account back to Hussain, a resident of Jalapur, Pirwala in Multan.

The agency added that evidence gathered so far indicated the suspect’s involvement in offences punishable under Section 22 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (Amended) 2025.
