In a deeply distressing incident, a first-grade student named Zakir from a government school in Mehran Colony, Nawabshah, lost his right eye following an alleged violent assault by his teacher.
Zakir recounted the incident to the media, stating that he was playing with a classmate when his teacher, identified as Abid Zardari, forced him to stand up and subjected him to a brutal beating with kicks and fists.
The assault reportedly caused severe damage to the child's right eye.
The child's uncle, Naushad, took the matter to the Nawabshah Press Club to protest against the teacher and demand justice.
Speaking to reporters, he highlighted the growing number of violence cases in government schools and criticized the education department’s inaction, raising serious concerns about the safety of students.
Naushad called for immediate accountability, stating, "The increasing incidents of violence against children in schools and the education department’s silence on the matter raise many questions."
This incident sheds light on the urgent need for stricter enforcement of laws against corporal punishment in schools and better oversight of the education system to protect children's well-being.
