Punjab man kills cousin, chops off his thumb to steal Rs1mn from ATM

SHEIKHUPURA: A man has been arrested for murdering his cousin and severing his thumb in order to access a substantial sum of money via a biometric ATM service in Sheikhupura.

According to police reports, the victim's body was discovered inside a vehicle, and it was confirmed that he was the son of the suspect's maternal aunt.

The suspect initially killed his relative and subsequently removed the thumb from the corpse.

He then proceeded to an ATM, where he withdrew Rs1 million from the victim's account.

Authorities stated that he and an accomplice were apprehended while attempting to dispose of the body in a canal.
