Robber killed, accomplice flees as security guard foils snatching attempt in Karachi

Karachi: A security guard at a marriage hall opened fire on two suspected robbers while they were attempting to rob a citizen near Munawar Chowrangi in Gulistan-e-Jauhar.

According to police, an exchange of fire took place between the security guard and the suspects. One suspected robber was killed, while the other managed to escape.

Police said that two citizens were also injured after the suspects opened fire. The injured included a food delivery rider and a passerby.

According to police, the suspects attempted to rob the food delivery rider, who resisted. The suspects then opened fire, injuring the delivery rider and another citizen.

Meanwhile, a separate police encounter took place on Saadi Town Road, resulting in the arrest of two suspected robbers.

According to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) East, the arrested suspects were identified as Asghar and Ali Gul. Weapons and mobile phones were recovered from their possession.

SSP Zubair Nazir Sheikh said the arrested suspects were allegedly involved in several serious criminal cases. He added that robbery and illegal weapons cases had previously been registered against them at police stations in Pir Sakhi, Landhi and Saeedabad.
