School principal arrested for rape attempt on female student in Karachi

A principal of a private school has been arrested on charges of attempting to rape a tenth-grade student in Karachi's Korangi.

According to sources, the police registered the case based on a complaint filed by the victim's sister at the Iqbal Market Police Station. The case number 173/24 includes charges of attempted rape, assault, and other relevant sections.

The FIR states that the victim's sister reported the principal had been sending inappropriate messages to her sister on WhatsApp.

The FIR further details that on June 1, the principal called the victim into his office and attempted to rape her. The victim's sister mentioned in the FIR that the principal also physically assaulted her sister. During the assault, the sister managed to escape after a struggle.

According to the FIR, the victim's sister informed the police that the principal had turned the CCTV camera towards the ceiling before calling her sister.

The police have confirmed of registration of the FIR on June 9 and arrested the principal.

The investigation has been launched on the rape charges by the female student.
