SHC orders registration of cases against illegal charged parking operators in Karachi

The Sindh High Court has ordered the registration of cases against those who have set up illegally charged parking spots in Karachi.
The Sindh High Court took up a case against illegally charged parking.
In today's hearing, DIG Traffic submitted a report to the court and said there are 46 legally charged parking spots on various roads in Karachi.
The SHC bench directed the authorities to register cases against those involved in illegally charged parking in Karachi.
The court remarked that the traffic engineering department plays a key role in regulating rules, but the KMC admitted that the department is inactive.
Earlier in the month of May, the Sindh High Court (SHC) scolded the director charged parking and other staff over their response about parking fees in DMC South, Karachi. The hearing of plea against exorbitant charged parking fees was taken up by the then Chief Justice Sindh High Court Justice Ahmed Ali Shaikh.
A citizen moved the high court against charging of Rs30 for bike parking in DMC South, Karachi, against the fixed rates of Rs10.
