Rana Sikandar Hayat, Punjab's Education Minister, has gone viral on social media after a video surfaced showing him struggling to answer basic general knowledge questions.
The clip, shared by the Instagram page voiceofstudents.pk, features Hayat fumbling over simple queries that are typically taught at the primary school level.
When asked to name Pakistan’s national animal, the minister hesitated and responded, "I wish I could skip this question."
His difficulty did not end there. Hayat was also unable to solve a basic multiplication problem—17 multiplied by 12—and failed to name Pakistan’s provinces correctly.
The video has sparked widespread criticism, with many questioning his suitability for the education portfolio.
Earlier, Rana Sikandar Hayat is paying daily visits to examination centres to eliminate cheating mafias, bribery, nepotism, and private institutions manipulating board results.
The strict measures have shown results, with public school students securing top positions in last year’s matric exams.
Additionally, Education Minister set an example by enrolling his son in a government school, challenging the status quo.
