Woman robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight in Karachi

In yet another incident of street crime in the port city, a woman was robbed by an armed mugger in Karachi, it emerged on Monday.

According to the details, the incident took place on September 10 in Federal B area Block 1, Sharifabad area of the metropolis at 2:32pm in the afternoon.

The brazen robbery was captured in a CCTV footage, which went viral on social media.

In the video, a robber on a motorbike could be seen looting the woman, who was passing through the residential neighbourhood, at gunpoint.

The bandit, in the video, could also be seen touching the hijab-wearing woman's ear to check gold earrings.

The mugger easily fled the scene after looting a mobile phone and other valuables from the victim.

The bandit had hid his face with a mask to avoid being identified in CCTV footage.

Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) issued a report revealing that 5,960 criminal incidents were reported from Karachi in August.

Almost 5,951 incidents of snatching and theft of cell phones, motorbikes, and other vehicles were reported in the megalopolis last month, the report said.
