Pakistan Army is all set to hold fitness training camp for women cricketers at the Army School of Physical Training (ASPT) in Kakul, sources said on Thursday.

According to sources, the decision was taken after the Women Green Shirts' lackluster performance against West Indies in the recently concluded ODI series and ongoing T20 series.

Sources said that the one-month fitness camp will begin at ASPT in June this year.

The session, named Fitness and Skill camp, will train 15 cricketers at one time.

Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) organised a fitness camp for the Pakistan team in collaboration with the Pakistan army to prepare players for the upcoming series and tournaments, including the home T20I series against New Zealand, the away T20I series against Ireland and England, and the forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup in USA and West Indies.

"The camp focused on team building and aimed to enhance the physical and mental strength of the players, ensuring they were in the best condition to face the challenges ahead," the cricket body said in a statement.

"Under the guidance of experienced trainers and coaches, the players underwent a comprehensive training regime tailored to elevate their fitness levels, agility, leadership and strategic thinking and overall performance on the field," it added.
