Pakistan's legendary scriptwriter, host, satirist and humorist Anwar Maqsood reacted to Pakistan's humiliating defeat to the USA in their first match of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Thursday.
The USA equalled a target of 160 runs set by the Green Shirts to start the World Cup campaign with a victory.
In super over thriller, the US set a 19-run target but the Green Shirts could only manage to score 13 runs.
However, Pakistan's continuous lackluster performance was slammed by many former cricketers, celebrities and actors.
Reacting to the defeat, Anwar Maqsoo said that Pakistan lost to the US due to the latter's pressure for the new loan programme by the International Monetary Fund.

"[...] IMF is set to release loan programme. I guess it's their [IMF] demand to lose a match from America. Apart from this, I don't think there is any other reason," he said in a video.
When a person, who was recording the video, asked the satirist about his prediction for the upcoming high-voltage match between Pakistan and India, Maqsood said that the countrymen would sell their tickets at half prices.
