Babar Azam, Pakistan's star batter, achieved a remarkable milestone on Friday during the final of the tri-series against New Zealand at the National Bank Stadium.
The 30-year-old cricketer became the latest Pakistani player to surpass 6,000 runs in One Day Internationals (ODIs), joining an elite group of players.
Babar’s ODI career now includes 34 half-centuries and 19 centuries, showcasing his consistent form in the format. He becomes the 11th Pakistani cricketer to score 6,000 runs in ODIs.

Leading this prestigious list is Inzamam-ul-Haq with 11,701 runs, followed by Mohammad Yousuf (9,554 runs) and Saeed Anwar (8,824 runs).
In addition to this achievement, Babar matched South African great Hashim Amla’s record for being the joint-fastest to reach 6,000 ODI runs, accomplishing the feat in just 123 innings.

Babar also holds the record for the fastest 5,000 ODI runs, reaching it in just 97 innings. Additionally, he is now just one century away from equaling Saeed Anwar’s record of 20 ODI centuries for Pakistan.
