Pakistan cricket captain Babar Azam has issued a defamation notice to anchor Mubasher Lucman for allegedly making false accusations against him and his family.

According to sources, Lucman had made a series of accusations on social media against Azam, prompting the captain to send a Rs1 billion defamation notice through his lawyers.

The notice demands an apology from Lucman for the false accusations, including allegations of match-fixing, and warns of legal action if the apology is not forthcoming.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s assistant coach, Azhar Mahmood, has also reacted to the wave of accusations on social media following the team’s disappointing performance at the ICC T20 World Cup.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Mahmood expressed concern about the harassment he and his family have faced due to the accusations. He stated that he reserves the right to take legal action against those making baseless claims without evidence.

Mahmood condemned the spread of misinformation and described the attempt to gain attention by making false accusations as unacceptable. He vowed to take strict action against those who have made baseless claims against him and his family.
