Former national team cricketer Basit Ali has suggested holding a javelin throw series between Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem and India's Neeraj Chopra.
The former cricketer shared a video on the video-sharing platform YouTube on Independence Day, where he discussed the India-Australia series and other sports.
He mentioned that India and Pakistan have not played bilateral cricket for over a decade due to political tensions.
In his video, he proposed that if the BCCI is not willing to agree on a cricket series between the two countries, they should consider playing a bilateral series of hockey, javelin throw, or kabaddi at a neutral venue.
According to Basit Ali, whenever Neeraj Chopra and Arshad Nadeem compete in javelin throw, the whole world watches on television.
He further added that if they were to compete in a javelin throw series, it would be a bigger event than the India-Australia series.
Arshad Nadeem won the javelin throw event in Paris with an Olympic Games record of 92.97 metres, pushing India’s Neeraj Chopra to second spot.
