The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has written another letter to the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding its decision not to send the national team to India for the upcoming T20 World Cup, sources said.
According to officials, the BCB had recently met with players to ascertain their views on touring India. Following the discussions, Sports Minister Asif Nazrul informed the media that Bangladesh would maintain its decision not to send the team to India for the tournament.
In light of the decision, the BCB has contacted the ICC again, requesting that Bangladesh’s World Cup matches scheduled in India be shifted to another venue, sources said.
The board has also asked the ICC to refer the matter to its Independent Dispute Resolution Committee for further consideration.
Bangladesh’s refusal to tour India is reportedly linked to security concerns, as well as the exclusion of fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from the Indian Premier League.
These developments prompted Bangladesh to take a firm stance against sending its team to India.
