In an almost unbelievable turn of events, a Fourth XI team from London’s Richmond Cricket Club was bowled out for just two runs while chasing a mammoth target of 427, marking one of the most lopsided defeats in cricket history.
According to British media reports, the dramatic collapse occurred during a Middlesex League match on Saturday, where Richmond faced North London Cricket Club. The opposition had piled up a staggering 426 runs in 45 overs, losing just six wickets and sending Richmond to the crease with a mountain to climb.
But what followed was pure cricketing carnage.
Richmond’s innings lasted a mere 5.4 overs, with wickets tumbling one after another in what looked more like a highlights reel of dismissals than an innings.
Shockingly, eight out of ten batsmen were dismissed for ducks, and only one run came off the bat. The other run? A gift from a wide delivery.

Cricket fans and statisticians alike were left stunned. Social media buzzed with reactions, calling the match “surreal,” and “hard to believe."
While Richmond's two-run innings might sting for a while, it will certainly be remembered as one of the most bizarre scorecards in the sport’s history.
