Shadab Khan shares picture holding Palestine flag

Pakistan star all-rounder Shadab Khan has garnered appreciation from fans after she shared a picture of himself holding a Palestine flag.

The picture is from the final of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine when Islamabad United players paraded in the ground with the Palestinian flag after defeating Multan Sultans.

Weeks after the final, Khan shared his picture on his Instagram account, expressing solidarity with the war-facing Gazans. 

"Cricket se aage jahaan aur bhi hein [There is more to life than cricket]," he captioned the picture.

However, some publications reported that the post was cryptic and was shared at a time when the Pakistan cricket team witnessed changes in the captaincy role.

A day earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) appointed the 29-year-old star player as skipper of Green Shirts.

Babar Azam will lead the team in One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and T20Is while Shan Masood will continue as the red-ball skipper.

“Babar Azam appointed as white-ball captain,” the PCB posted on X, formerly Twitter.

“Following unanimous recommendation from the PCB’s selection committee, Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi has appointed Babar Azam as white-ball (ODI and T20I) captain of the Pakistan men's cricket team.”
