Pakistan were defeated by India on Sunday night in their second match of the ongoing T20 World Cup at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
Babar Azam invited Rohit Sharma to bat first after winning the toss in the high-voltage match.
Green Shirts started the match brilliantly as Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi took early wickets of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, respectively.
Pakistan bowlers restricted Blue Shirts at 119 runs, the lowest target made by team India in the mega event.
Naseem and Haris Rauf bowled three Indian players each, while Mohammad Amir secured two wickets and Shaheen Afridi one.
Chasing the lowest target, Mohammad Rizwan scored the highest 31 runs for Pakistan. Green Shirts were at 71-2 in 11 overs.
However, Pakistan's batting lineup started faltering, ending their innings at 113-7 in 20 overs.
The defeat frustrated Pakistani cricket fans who demanded PCB to make major changes in the team.
This is actually good for Pakistan cricket. This team and this administration would have rode on the back of an India win for two more years. A defeat like this doesn’t just happen. It is caused by poor strategy, insecurity and poor team spirit. Time for wholesale changes

Really hopeful that Pakistan does not qualify in the next stage and deserving USA qualify alongwith India. This team needs some serious big changes and that should start from the removal of @MohsinnaqviC42 and @WahabViki. Babar to perform as a batter and Rizwan to lead team

Highly paid team with zero performance. Pakistan team needs serious changes otherwise we would continue losing all the upcoming mega events too. #BabarAzamGharJao

Talking to a private news channel outside the stadium, a cricket enthusiast asked Babar why he does not apply on-ground strategies to tackle difficult situations during the match.
Another fan questioned Iftikhar Ahmad, Fakhar Zaman and Shadab Khan's inclusion in the squad despite their poor performances.
On the other hand, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi hinted at introducing new talent to the team.
“We thought the cricket team might get better with minor surgery, but after today's abysmal performance, a major surgery is necessary," he said while addressing the media post-match.
