PSL 9: Imad Wasim to represent Islamabad United, Hasan Ali joins Karachi Kings

Islamabad United have secured all-rounder Imad Wasim to replace pacer Hassan Ali, who recently joined Karachi Kings for the upcoming ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced in a brief press release, "HBL PSL 5 winning captain Imad Wasim will don Islamabad United colors in the ninth edition of the tournament. Imad, named All-Rounder of HBL PSL 8, has been acquired by Islamabad United in the Platinum category."
Imad Wasim shared the news on 'X,' expressing his excitement for "a new beginning."
He conveyed gratitude to his fans and the management of Karachi Kings for their support, pledging to excel under the captaincy of Shadab Khan in Islamabad United.
Having led Karachi Kings in the fifth edition of PSL, Imad Wasim has now joined Islamabad United under the Platinum category, marking a fresh chapter in his career.
He expressed excitement about returning to his hometown team, appreciating the support provided by Karachi Kings.
"Time for a new chapter. Really excited to be heading to my hometown team Islamabad United. It is an amazing franchise with great people," said Imad.
He expressed his commitment to reciprocate the trust shown in him by Islamabad United, Shadab Khan, and owner Ali Naqvi.
In a farewell post on 'X', Islamabad United bid adieu to Hassan Ali, extending good wishes for his future endeavors. Hassan, who represented Islamabad United in the last edition, has joined Karachi Kings under the Diamond category.
The team's post referred Hassan Ali as a true "#Sheru" (lion), stating that “Today we bid farewell to a true #Sheru. Hassan Ali, our #Generator, will be lighting up a new path with Karachi Kings in #HBLPSL9, adding that he has “left an indelible mark.”
Changes have been made to the categorsation of players ahead of the PSL 2024 Player Draft, with Mirza Tahir Baig (Lahore Qalandars), Rumman Raees (Islamabad United), and Mir Hamza (Karachi Kings) moved from the gold category to silver based on franchise requests.
