India secured their third ICC Champions Trophy title with a four-wicket win over New Zealand in the final held at Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.
The victory marked India's unbeaten run in the tournament, as they played all their matches in Dubai after opting out of traveling to host nation Pakistan due to political tensions.
Chasing 252, India successfully reached the target in 49 overs, losing six wickets. Captain Rohit Sharma led from the front with a well-compiled 76 off 83 balls, supported by Shubman Gill’s 31.
Shreyas Iyer (48) and Axar Patel (29) further stabilized the chase before KL Rahul (34*) ensured India's victory. Mitchell Santner and Michael Bracewell took two wickets each for New Zealand.
Earlier, New Zealand posted 251/7 after opting to bat first. Daryl Mitchell top-scored with 63, while Michael Bracewell remained unbeaten on 53.
Rachin Ravindra (37) and Glenn Phillips (34) also contributed. Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy took two wickets each for India.
With the win, India added another major ICC trophy to their collection, maintaining their dominance in limited-overs cricket.
