New Zealand secured a dominant nine-wicket victory over Pakistan in the first T20I in Christchurch on Sunday, taking a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.

Batting first, Pakistan collapsed to 11-4 within the first five overs, with pacer Kyle Jamieson dismantling the top order.

The tourists were eventually bowled out for 92— their lowest T20I total in New Zealand. Jamieson recorded figures of 3-8 in four overs, while Jacob Duffy cleaned up the tail with career-best figures of 4-14.

Despite a brief 46-run stand between captain Salman Ali Agha (18) and Khushdil Shah (32), Pakistan never recovered from their early collapse.

New Zealand chased the target comfortably, reaching 92-1 in just 10.1 overs. Tim Seifert led with 44 off 29 balls, while Finn Allen (29*) and Tim Robinson (18*) finished the job.

The second T20I will be played in Dunedin on Tuesday.
