Pakistani all-rounder Khushdil Shah lost his temper in response to scathing fan criticism following his team’s 3-0 whitewash by New Zealand on Saturday.

The Kiwis won the one-day international series by 43 runs on Saturday, capping off a disappointing 3-0 series sweep for the Pakistani team amidst dramatic scenes in the final match.

The team's failure to win a single match in the series left fans heartbroken, prompting them to curse and abuse the Pakistani players.

However, 30-year-old Khushdil couldn't tolerate the criticism from Pakistani and Afghan cricket fans and attempted to intervene, but he failed to calm the bitter exchange.

A picture circulated on social media after the match, showing Shah trying to jump over the grill into the spectators' area– the only barrier between him and the fans – before being restrained by the ground management.

The uneven sentiment of the fans was a reflection of their disappointment after Pakistan's brittle batting against the host team, who dismissed the tourists for 221 runs in 40 overs in pursuit of a 264-8 target set in the final match of the series.

Apart from this, the lights went out during play on Saturday at Bay Oval Stadium in Mount Maunganui, New Zealand, adding an unusual twist to the match between Pakistan and New Zealand.

A video clip from the live broadcast went viral on social media, with many people calling it shocking and dangerous for the players.
