Mohsin Khan defends Babar Azam, calls Virat Kohli ‘Zero’ in comparison

Pakistan's star batter Babar Azam has been under heavy criticism due to his recent poor performances, including an underwhelming display in the Champions Trophy.

However, former Test cricketer, chief selector, and coach Mohsin Khan has come forward in Babar’s defense, making a bold statement that Indian batting star Virat Kohli is ‘nothing’ compared to Babar Azam.

Speaking on a private TV program, Mohsin Khan responded to a comparison between Babar and Kohli, stating that "Virat Kohli is nothing in front of Babar Azam—he is a zero."

The former stylish opening batter criticized Pakistan’s cricket structure, saying that the real issue lies in the country's cricketing system, which has completely collapsed.

He added that there is no planning, no proper strategy, no merit, and no accountability in Pakistan cricket.

He also expressed disappointment over Pakistan’s recent failures in international tournaments, stating that failing to qualify for the next rounds is embarrassing.

According to him, personal interests and favoritism have caused the downfall of Pakistan cricket.

Highlighting issues of nepotism in team selection, Mohsin Khan remarked, "Anyone can get selected through recommendations. When I was the chief selector, I personally picked the team with sincerity and worked with full dedication for the Pakistan Cricket Board."
