Naqvi confirms India will travel to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday confirmed that India will travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025.

"The Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan, and all teams will come. We have made all the plans in this regard," he said while talking to the media during an inspection of the Gaddafi Stadium construction project.

In the press briefing, Naqvi provided updates on the venue's renovation.

"The work of the basement will be completed by September 30, each floor will be completed in three weeks, the pavilion will be made of steel, and by December 31, the main building will be completed," he explained.

The cricket body chief also discussed the Test series between Pakistan and England, confirming that the series will be held in the country, with Multan and Rawalpindi as the final venues.

He mentioned that the PCB is in contact with the English Cricket Board regarding the series.

Regarding the Champions Trophy scheduled for February 2025, Naqvi assured that all planning has been completed and that he is in touch with all major boards, including the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The PCB Chairman also announced that a new stadium will be built in Islamabad, modeled after the Dubai Stadium, and that work on the hotel near Gaddafi Stadium will commence after the mega event.

Clearing the air surrounding the potential change in leadership roles in national side, Naqvi said that decisions regarding team captains will be made by coaches and selectors.

"I have left the matters to them. I have called everyone in a workshop on September 22, and all people will give their suggestions, and then the decisions will be made."
