In October, Fast bowler Naseem Shah underwent a successful surgery on his shoulder in a private hospital in London which was carried out by a renowned surgeon.
Doctors confirmed that Naseem Shah underwent a minor surgery to address a small tear in his shoulder tendon.
The operation lasted for approximately half an hour.
Medical experts had advised Naseem Shah to take a rest of 4 to 6 weeks before resuming any strenuous activities.
In the 46th over during Pakistan's second game against India at the Asia Cup 2023 last month, the pacer walked off the field on the reserve day organised for that game. Soon after, the PCB issued a press release stating that the right-armer has been ruled out of the rest of the tournament.
Shah suffered an injury to a muscle just below his bowling shoulder and is not a recurrence of any previous shoulder injuries.
Separately it emerged that Naseem Shah will not play for Quetta Gladiators in the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Reports said Shah was in talks with Islamabad United while a formal announcement in this regard is yet to be made. He was also spotted with Shadab Khan recently.
On the other hand, wicket-keeper batsman Azam Khan and pacer Mohammad Wasim Jr are among the strong candidates to join the Gladiators for PSL 2024. Preparations are ramping up for PSL 9, having now finalised the Pick Order for the Player Draft. Quetta Gladiators will make the first pick in the PSL 024 Player Draft. Karachi Kings and two-time champions Islamabad United will have the second and third picks.
