The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the nominations for the ICC Awards 2023, and to the dismay of cricket enthusiasts in Pakistan, no player from the country managed to secure a nomination in any of the nine categories.

Despite Pakistan's cricketers bagging four ICC awards in 2021 and two in 2022, they found themselves absent from the nomination list this year.

The race for the coveted ICC Men's Cricketer of the Year includes the Test Championship and ODI World Cup-winning Australian captain, Pat Cummins, alongside his teammate Travis Head, and Indian batters Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja.

Pakistani cricketers failed to secure place even in this highly coveted category.

Australia's Travis Head and opener batter Usman Khawaja, Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, and England's Joe Root are nominated for the ICC Test Cricketer of the Year.

Indian players dominate the ODI Cricketer of the Year category, with Shibman Gill, Virat Kohli, and Mohammed Shami securing nominations, alongside New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell.

The T20 Cricketer of the Year nominations feature India's Surya Kumar Yadav, Zimbabwe's Sikandar Raza, Uganda's Alpesh Ramjani, and New Zealand's Mark Chapman, showcasing a diverse array of talent.

In the Emerging Cricketers of the Year category, New Zealand's Rachin Ravindra, South Africa's Gerald Coetzee, Sri Lanka's Dilshan Madhushanka, and India's Yashi Jaiswal are in contention for the prestigious title.

Turning to women's cricket, England's Nat Sciver-Brunt, last year's winner, stands tall among the ODI Women's Cricketer of the Year nominees, alongside Chamari Athapaththu (Sri Lanka), Ashleigh Gardner, and Beth Mooney (Australia).

The T20 Women's Cricketer of the Year award sees nominations for Hayley Matthews (West Indies), Ellyse Perry (Australia), Sophie Ecclestone (England), and Chamari Athapaththu (Sri Lanka).
