The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is trying to fill the stands for the ongoing Multan Test match between Pakistan and England by offering free entry to selected enclosures for the remianing days of the match.
The decision comes after visibly disinterested crowds and many empty seats were seen during the first two days of the play.
Former England captain and commentator Mike Atherton expressed his disappointment, saying, "It looks like there are more security personnel than fans in the stadium."
Despite Pakistan's dominant position in the match, with stellar batting performances, including a century by Shan Masood, the stadium remained empty.
Meanwhile, Zak Crawley’s unbeaten half-century kept England in contention after Pakistan were bowled out for a mammoth 556 on the second day of the first Test here at Multan Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
At the Stumps on Day 2, England were 96/1 with Crawley, unbeaten with a run-a-ball, 64 and Joe Root, 32 not out, at the crease.
