Pakistan Hockey team clinched its first victory by 8-1 against Canada in the ongoing FIH Nations Cup in Poland on Monday.

At the commencement of the game, Canada’s Sean Davis opened the scoring and hit the only goal from his team, while in a quick response, Pakistan Rana Waheed Asharf equalised the match.

Pakistan doubled the goal in 27 minutes and the Green Shirts ended the second quarter with a one-goal lead.

In the third quarter, Ghazanfar Ali threw the ball towards the hockey doel to add another goal to Pakistan's score.

However, the Pakistan team did not give room to the Canadian side, playing an attacking game and scoring five more goals.

Pakistan’s Rana Waheed Ashraf hit five goals, while Ghazanfar Ali, Abdul Rehman, and Hannan Shahid scored one goal each.

In the first match, Pakistan drew the encounter against Malaysia with a last-minute goal.

Green Shirts will play against France in their final pool match of the tournament on June 5.
