Pakistan clinched the ODI series on Thursday night at Newlands, crushing the Proteas by 81 runs in the second match to set a new record for away series victories in South Africa.

The Green Shirts led 2-0 in the series, with Kamran Ghulam being declared the Man of the Match.

After winning the toss, South Africa elected to bowl first and Pakistan scored 329 runs in 49.5 overs. South Africa were subsequently bowled out for 248 runs.

Pakistan achieved a historic feat by winning an ODI series in South Africa for the third time, becoming the first team to accomplish this feat in the 21st century.

Previously, Pakistan had triumphed in ODI series against South Africa in 2013 and 2021. 

This latest victory, secured by consecutively defeating South Africa in the second match of the three-match ODI series.

In their seven bilateral ODI series in South Africa, Pakistan has emerged victorious three times, placing them second on the list of teams with the most ODI series wins in the country.

Australia also boasts three ODI series victories in South Africa, having achieved success in 1997, 2002, and 2011 across their ten series in the country.
