The 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) commenced with a vibrant opening ceremony at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, marking the city’s first time hosting the tournament’s inaugural match.

The ceremony began with children dressed in green and white performing the national anthem, as team franchise owners gathered on stage alongside the PSL trophy. The event featured a diverse lineup of performances, beginning with a soulful Sufi segment led by renowned singer Abida Parveen, accompanied by traditional dancers.

Popular music group Young Stunners followed with a high-energy act, igniting the crowd’s enthusiasm. The atmosphere reached its peak as Ali Zafar performed his hit songs, joined by Natasha Baig and Abrarul Haq to present the official HBL PSL X anthem.

Following the ceremony, the opening match of the season will see three-time champions Islamabad United face two-time winners Lahore Qalandars at 8:30 pm.

This year’s PSL will feature six teams competing for a $500,000 winner’s prize, with the runners-up earning $200,000. Lahore’s renovated Gaddafi Stadium will host 13 matches, including the Qualifier, Eliminator, and the final on May 18. Rawalpindi will stage 11 matches, while Multan and Karachi will each host five games.
