Renovated National Stadium Karachi all set to hold Champions Trophy

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a grand opening ceremony for the newly renovated National Bank Stadium in Karachi on February 11.
The event will feature live performances by renowned singers Shafqat Amanat Ali, Ali Zafar, and Sahir Ali Bagga, alongside a fireworks display and a light show. The ceremony marks the completion of the stadium’s refurbishment ahead of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed the event on social media, stating that it would be an “unforgettable night” for cricket and music fans.
The National Bank Stadium is set to host three matches in the Champions Trophy, including the opening fixture between Pakistan and New Zealand on February 19.
The tournament, featuring eight teams, will be played from February 19 to March 9 across three venues in Pakistan—Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi—as well as Dubai. The participating teams are divided into two groups:
Group A: Pakistan, India, New Zealand, Bangladesh
Group B: Afghanistan, South Africa, England, Australia
The Champions Trophy 2025 will consist of 15 matches, with teams competing for the prestigious title in the One Day International (ODI) format.
