Ronaldo becomes world's highest-paid athlete with $260 million earnings

Portuguese star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has surpassed Argentina's Lionel Messi to become the world’s highest-earning sportsman in 2024.
The Al-Nassr forward has earned this title for the fourth consecutive year, according to Forbes.
Ronaldo has bagged an estimated amount of $260 million in the last 12 months, ESPN said. It comprises $200 million on-field earnings and $60 million off-field, through brands association.
Renowned Spanish footballer Jon Rahm secured the second position in the list with $218 million.
The third position was clinched by Messi, who is the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner, with a total earnings of $135 million.
The 36-year-old Argentina star’s earnings with football amount to $65 million while his association with brands helped him secure $70 million.
Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James fourth came at fourth with $128.2 million, followed by NBA Giannis Antetokounmpo $111 million, and French captain Kylian Mbappé $110 million.
