Portugal's football star Cristiano Ronaldo has made a remarkable debut on YouTube with his channel "UR · Cristiano", achieving an unprecedented milestone of over 13 million subscribers in just 15 hours.

He also set a new world record of amassing 1 million subscribers in just one and a half hours.

The record was previously held by South Korean singer Jennie Kim, who reached 1 million subscribers in 7 hours.

In his first video, Ronaldo expressed his excitement about "finally" launching his YouTube channel, a long-held ambition.

Al Nassr star said he will maintain a strong connection with his fans through social media and "looks forward to utilising this new platform to share his passion for football".

The 39-year-old footballer plans to focus on football-related content on his channel, offering fans a unique perspective on the sport.

However, Ronaldo was also honoured with the coveted YouTube golden button for amassing millions of followers on the video-sharing platform.
