Opening batter Saim Ayub, who is currently receiving treatment in London for a right ankle fracture, is focused on his recovery and remains determined to return to action.

Speaking from London, Saim expressed his uncertainty about the recovery timeline but assured that he is doing everything possible to recover quickly. He also acknowledged the efforts of the medical team supporting his recovery.

"I don’t know how long it will take for me to fully recover, but I am doing my best," Saim said, adding that the doctors are working tirelessly to ensure his recovery.

When asked about the high expectations following his recent impressive performances, including two centuries, Saim emphasized that cricket is a team sport.

"No single player is crucial; winning requires the entire team to work together," he stated. He also requested the nation’s prayers for his speedy recovery.

Saim was accompanied to London by assistant coach Azhar Mahmood after his injury during the Cape Town Test. However, reports confirmed that Azhar has since returned to Multan, leaving Saim to continue his treatment on his own.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had initially sent Azhar Mahmood to support Saim during his recovery. Saim sustained a fractured right ankle during the second Test against South Africa, and while his participation in the upcoming Champions Trophy remains uncertain, his recovery is being closely monitored.

Saim Ayub has been in exceptional form in recent months, scoring three ODI centuries and an unbeaten 98 in T20Is. His remarkable performances earned him the Player of the Series award in Pakistan’s historic 3-0 ODI sweep against South Africa.
