Pakistan's cricketing talent has been on the rise as emerging stars Saim Ayub and Salman Ali Agha have made significant strides in the latest ICC player rankings for both white-ball and red-ball formats, following their stellar performances in recent matches.

Saim Ayub's Breakthrough

Saim Ayub, the young batter who has been making waves in international cricket, has seen an impressive rise of 57 spots in the ICC Men's ODI Player Rankings. After his exceptional performance in Pakistan’s 3-0 series victory over South Africa, where he was awarded the Player of the Series, Ayub now sits at 23rd place with 603 rating points. His standout performances, which included two centuries in the series, have solidified his position among the top young talents in world cricket.

Salman Ali Agha’s Steady Climb

Vice-captain Salman Ali Agha has also shown significant progress, climbing 28 spots to 80th position with 468 rating points. Agha's consistent performances have earned him recognition and have further established him as a key player for Pakistan.

Rizwan's Steady Rise in ODI Rankings

In the ICC Men's ODI Rankings, Pakistan’s captain Mohammad Rizwan has moved up three places, advancing from 24th to 21st with 612 rating points. Rizwan’s steady performances have helped him inch closer to the top of the rankings.

Setbacks for Abdullah Shafique

Meanwhile, Abdullah Shafique, who struggled during the South Africa series with three consecutive ducks, has seen a considerable drop of 21 places in the ODI rankings, now sitting at 98th. Despite the setback, Shafique’s talent remains undeniable, and he will look to bounce back in upcoming series.

Babar Azam Continues to Dominate

Pakistan’s batting maestro Babar Azam continues to dominate the ICC ODI Rankings, holding the number-one spot. He remains at the top, followed by India’s Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill in second and third positions, respectively.

Changes in ODI Bowling Rankings

In the ODI bowling rankings, Pakistan’s Haris Rauf slipped from 15th to 16th, while Mohammad Wasim Jr. holds the 61st spot. Naseem Shah, however, has made a notable rise, jumping 10 places to 51st. Mohammad Nawaz, on the other hand, has dropped six places to 73rd.

Shaheen Afridi Drops in ODI Rankings

Rashid Khan remains at the top of the ODI bowling rankings, with Pakistan's Shaheen Afridi slipping from second to third place, surpassed by India's Kuldeep Yadav. Afridi’s dip in rankings follows his recent performances, though he remains one of the world’s best pacers.

T20I Rankings Update

In the T20I format, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan retain their positions at 6th and 8th, respectively. Emerging talent Saim Ayub has also made an upward move, climbing one spot to 57th. Despite being sidelined from action, Fakhar Zaman and Iftikhar Ahmed have risen one place each to 68th and 78th, respectively.

Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf Slip in T20I Rankings

In the T20I bowler rankings, Shaheen Afridi has dropped two places to 23rd, while Haris Rauf has slipped to 28th. Young pacer Abbas Afridi also dropped one place to 43rd, but Shadab Khan saw a slight improvement, moving up two places to 69th.

Test Rankings and Babar Azam’s Progress

Babar Azam, Pakistan’s captain, has continued to show his skill in the longer format, moving up two places in the Test batter rankings, now sitting at 15th with 670 rating points. His consistency has earned him a place among the top Test batters worldwide.

Salman Ali Agha and Rizwan Rise in Test Rankings

Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Rizwan have also improved in the Test batter rankings, moving up to 18th and 19th, respectively. However, there have been some setbacks for Pakistan's opening batters, Imam-ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique, both of whom have dropped in the Test rankings, with Imam now at 44th and Shafique at 50th.

Sarfaraz Ahmed Sees Improvement

Former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, who has been out of international action recently, has seen a rise in his rankings, now positioned at 72nd. His experience and leadership continue to earn him respect in the rankings.

Test Bowling Rankings: Noman Ali on the Rise

In the Test bowling rankings, Noman Ali has made progress, moving up one place to 9th. Meanwhile, Shaheen Afridi remains in 18th position. Afridi, despite a slight drop in his rankings, continues to be one of the best fast bowlers in the world.
