Shaheen Afridi, his wife set to welcome their first baby: reports

Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi and his wife Ansha Afridi are set to welcome their first child, national team head coach Jason Gillespie confirmed on Friday.

Geo News citing then white-ball coach reported that the 24-year-old bowler will likely miss the home test series against Bangladesh.

According to Gillespie, Shaheen Afridi is all set to welcome his first baby in a few weeks.

"If he wants to stay with his wife, we can bench him [for the series]," he told the publication.

Shaheen and Ansha had tied the knot in a beautiful daytime private ceremony in Karachi on February 3 last year.

Later on September 19, 2023, the left-arm fast bowler took his wife home after a grand rukhsati (seeing off) ceremony hosted by Afridis at a local hotel in the metropolis. The valima was held on September 21.

Ansha is the daughter of iconic Pakistani player, Shahid Afridi. The couple were engaged for two years ago before tying the knot.
