Pakistan's left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has been dropped from the second test against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi on August 30.
Addressing a press conference, Pakistan’s head coach Jason Gillespie said Afridi was “working on some things” to improve his effectiveness.
“We have had a conversation with him, and he fully understands and appreciates the thinking behind it, he is working on some things with his bowling to be as effective as he possibly can be,” Gillespie said.
“We want to see Shaheen at his best because we have got a lot of cricket in all formats, and Shaheen is going to play a really big role in that,” he added.
Meanwhile, Gillespie said he wants Shaheen to spend some time with his family as he has become a father recently.
The training session on Thursday was cancelled due to heavy downpours in Rawalpindi.
“We will look at the condition and decide what the best makeup of our bowling attack looks like, we were unable to look surface much because of the weather,” he said.
Following losing the first test at home ground, Pakistan must win the second test to draw the series.
